Level I Volunteer Application

Level I - General Volunteers - Limited, supervised roles with no unsupervised learner contact.

Examples of Level I volunteer opportunities:

  • Working in the garden during weekend hours

  • Driving donations to campus

  • Putting together packets at home

Level II/III Volunteer Application

Level II - Classroom Support - Direct interaction with learners under staff supervision.

Examples of Level II volunteer opportunities:

  • Classroom volunteer

  • Traffic assistant

  • Accompanying your own learner on a field trip (in a non-driving capacity)

Level III - High Responsibility - Unsupervised direct interaction with learners or high-risk roles (overnight field trip chaperone, leadership)

Examples of Level III volunteer opportunities:

  • Seminar lead

  • After-school tutor

  • Playground supervision

  • Escorting learners for photo day, health screenings, etc.

  • Overnight field trip chaperone

Driver Volunteer Application

Driver - High Responsibility -Unsupervised direct interaction driving learners to field trips.

If volunteering as a Driver:

  1. Must be at least 25 years of age or the parent of a student going on the field trip.

  2. Must have proper volunteer and driver clearance from SCC prior to the field trip.

  3. Must submit a copy of valid US driver's license.

  4. Must submit a copy of the driving record.

  5. Must submit a car insurance coverage verification (not the insurance card) (Bodily injury: $100,000/$300,000; Property damage: $25,000; Medical payment: $2,000 (preferred))

  6. Number of passengers may not exceed stated capacity of vehicle. Each passenger must have a seat belt.

  7. Please do not allow passengers to eat in your vehicle due to food allergies.
