Spotlight: Volunteer Opportunities

  • Traffic Circle Volunteers are responsible for helping to keep our learners and families safe every morning. They direct traffic, keep cars moving, open doors for learners, and greet families.

  • Level I volunteers do not engage in direct contact with learners. These volunteers do not require a criminal background/fingerprint check or a TB Risk Assessment.

    Level I volunteers must read and sign the following items on an annual basis (available in your PowerSchool Parent Portal):

    • Signed Volunteer Application

    • Signed Volunteer Agreements

    • Signed Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement

    • Signed Volunteer Participation Waiver & Release

    • Signed Receipt of Volunteer Handbook

  • Level II volunteers are under the constant, direct supervision of an SCC employee. These volunteers do not require a criminal background/fingerprint check, but the school reserves the right to perform a Megan’s Law search. Additionally, a TB Risk Assessment is required. Level II volunteers must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination status OR agree to weekly testing.

  • Level III volunteers work under the general supervision of an SCC employee. In addition to all of the requirements above for Levels I & II, these volunteers must undergo a criminal background/fingerprint check. Level III volunteers must have no record of a serious or violent felony conviction (pursuant to Ed Code 45122.1) or requirement to register as a sex offender under California law (Penal Code 290).
